Source: Kim Kardashian ‘weighing her options’ after Kanye West allegedly assaults man hurling racial slurs

A man hurled racial slurs and insults at Kim Kardashian while she was at a chiropractor’s office in Beverly Hills on Monday, a source close to the situation told FOX411. Her fiancé Kanye West then allegedly assaulted the offending man, and the reality starlet is mulling over how to handle the whole situation.

“Kim was verbally assaulted yesterday and is weighing her options,” the source told us Tuesday morning.

Lieutenant Mark Miner confirmed to FOX411 that an incident had occurred, and that there is an ongoing misdemeanor assault investigation involving West.

“[On Monday] the Beverly Hills Police Department responded to the 8800 block of Wilshire Blvd. regarding a Misdemeanor Battery that just occurred at the location,” the police department said in a statement. “The named suspect was identified as Kanye West by the victim and several witnesses. Mr. West had left the location prior to officers arrival.”

According to TMZ, Kanye was not physically present when an 18-year-old started spewing the N-word at Kardashian, but she called him from her cellphone and he rushed to scene. The gossip site reported that the man initially began using the slurs to chat with Kardashian about the paparazzi that had swarmed her as she walked into the building, but when she reprimanded him for his inappropriate word choice, he began insulting the star.

Our source told us that the man directed racial slurs at Kardashian and also called the star a “slut” and a “whore.”

TMZ reported that when West arrived, a confrontation took place in the waiting room of the medical office and the rapper punched the unidentified man.

This is not West’s first run-in with the law. According to TMZ, he’s currently facing battery charges for attacking a photographer back in July.

Lt. Miner explained that the other incident shouldn’t affect the investigation of Monday’s alleged assault.

“Each crime stands on its own,” he said.

A rep for Kardashian declined to comment.
