Madonna and Sean Penn back on?

Madonna premiered her short film "secretprojectrevolution" last night at the Gagosian Gallery in Manhattan and it was quite the draw.

Lindsay Lohan was there looking great and chatting with Anderson Cooper, Madonna’s son Rocco performed with her and, oh yeah, Sean Penn was there.

The former spouses divorced in 1989 after four bitter years, but have managed to remain somewhat friendly, and now find themselves both single, she having divorced Guy Ritchie, and he having split from Robin Wright.

So could these two be rekindling their long dormant romance?

"Madonna's friends wish she'd get back with Sean," one source told US Weekly. "He will always be the love of her life."
