Steven Ward is a professional relationship expert and host of the VH1 series “Tough Love,” where he advises single women on how to find the right guy.

As reported first by The Dirty and then Radaronline, Ward, who has a live-in girlfriend, was caught on tape soliciting sex from escort and adult webcam performer Jenna Shea.

The website also reported he offered her a spot on his show for a romp in the sack, citing an audio recording they said Shea gave them as proof.

We reached out to VH1, Shaw, and Ward for comment on the story, but received no response. We were able however to talk to Star Magazine Deputy Editor Matt Coppa about the situation, and he said if the recording is legitimate, Ward has some serious credibility issues going forward.

“How can you go around telling people how to meet certain people and act in relationships and the proper way to treat a woman when you’re doing the exact opposite?” Coppa said. “And by the way, he’s got a girlfriend he’s been living with for a while, and they’ve been dating for six years. She actually appeared with him on ‘Jimmy Fallon’ a couple weeks ago, saying he has the intention to marry her. So, the fact that he’s doing that, how can you take any advice from him specifically about relationships?”

SiriusXM radio personality Cristina Palumbo also said Ward should consider retiring his "relationship expert" title, but could easily transition into becoming a bona fide reality star.

“Reality television is a place for what Steven Ward is doing,” she said. “I don’t know why he would think that he would ever get away with something like that. There are so many other people, the government, that hasn’t even gotten away with it. What makes Steven Ward think that he’s going to?"

Coppa said Ward may not have any worries as his show gets good ratings for its network, but he still wonders how VH1 can keep the host.

“That’s up to them, you know, what’s going to work from them ratings wise. I don’t see how viewers are fans of the show can take what he says about relationships seriously anymore,” he said. “Maybe there’s something that follows him where he makes amends to his girlfriend or something like that, but as far as relationship show and matchmaking show goes, I don’t see how that can continue.”
