Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones are taking a break, his rep confirmed to FOX411.
"Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones are taking some time apart to evaluate and work on their marriage. There is no further comment," the rep said.
The power couple's split was first reported by People magazine.
News of their separation comes after the pair hasn't been photographed together for several months. Most recently, Douglas was spotted on a yacht off the coast of Sardinia while Zeta-Jones was at home in New York.

People reported that the couple's recent hardships affected their marriage. In 2010, he battled throat cancer, and she has been struggling with bipolar disorder.
“The stress has taken a toll on their marriage,” a friend tells People.
Douglas and Zeta-Jones have been married since 2000 and have two children together.
