Unlike some of the scandal-ridden beauty queens out there, Miss USA 2011 Alyssa Campanella says she's a good girl.

The pageant winner, however, is sympathetic when some of her sisters find themselves in trouble. Like when former Miss USA 2012 Rima Fakih was arrested for drunk driving. Or when Miss Nevada came under fire after it was reported she was seen in racy photos with adult-film star Ron Jeremy.

"People make mistakes," she told FOX 411. "And all you can do is hope something good does come out of it."

Campanella has been busy these days, and she said she flew from Los Angeles to New York this week to check out the styles and trends being showcased at Fashion Week.

"There's Los Angeles Fashion Week but this is really the big one," she said.

Campanella said she was excited for the Lacoste show, which she expected would be more preppy than many of the other designer's collections.

"It's different than a lot of the other shows," she said. "It's stuff I can wear every day and out on the streets."

But it's hard to imagine the beauty queen in the bulky, futuristic gear showcased on the Lacoste runway.

The clothes included transparent raincoats and structured, wide tops and dresses made out of thick fabrics.

The theme of the show was evident from the variety of space-like special effects on the runway. With eerie music, smoke blowing and a large white contraption that the models emerged from, the show felt like a scene from “Back to the Future 2.”

Perhaps Campanella is more likely to wear the clothes from the Jill Stuart presentation, which she attended as well.

Stuart showcased ready-to-wear dresses in dark colors, with elegant gold accents. The collection also featured some lighter looks with sexy cutouts.
