It seems like some stars are just better off single. "Miss Independent" Kelly Clarkson has gone on record saying that compromising in relationships "sounds like a lot of work" and she's happy she's still unwed at 29. And Taylor Swift said this week that she does not want to be the girl who goes through a "constant stream of boyfriends" (even though it's a little too late for that).

On "The Ellen DeGeneres Show," Swift said, "If you're the girl that needs a boyfriend, and once she loses that boyfriend needs to replace it with a different boyfriend, it's just this constant stream of boyfriends all the time. I don't feel like I ever want to be that girl."

Well, since she kind of HAS been that girl for quite a while (Jake Gyllenhaal, Joe Jonas, Taylor Lautner, John Mayer), this is definitely an improvement.

Clarkson, 29, told USA Today she'd like to hold off on marriage until her late thirties. "I think that you should wait because first of all, statistically you're screwed," she said. "People are going to get divorced and then they're going to get married again. . . . And like, I think if we wait until we're like late thirties, that's a good time."

Meanwhile, other stars who are dating again probably SHOULD stay single. Jennifer Lopez has been seeing Bradley Cooper, who is reportedly "really trying to woo Jennifer in a big way," Us Weekly reports. But since she's barely out of her third marriage, she might want to give it a rest for a while.
