Actor Tom Sizemore was arrested Tuesday in Los Angeles on an outstanding warrant for battery, Radar Online reported.

Police said Sizemore, 49, was arrested at around 1:15 a.m. local time Tuesday at an apartment building where officers were conducting an ongoing drug investigation.

Officers encountered the "Saving Private Ryan" star there, checked his record and found an outstanding warrant for a battery charge.

He was booked into jail at 3 a.m. and is being held on $26,000 bail.

Sizemore has a 2003 conviction for domestic violence charges and a history of substance abuse issues that led him to appear on the VH1 series "Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew" and its spinoff "Sober House."

He recently joined the cast of CBS' revamp of "Hawaii Five-O."
