Robert López, who also wrote multiple songs for the upcoming summer children’s flick “Winnie the Pooh,” received two nominations for his work in the newly launched play that is taking Broadway by storm: “The Book of Mormon.” The show was nominated for “Best Book of a Musical” and “Best Original Score Written for the Theater.”
Pedro Almodóvar’s adaptation of his 1988 film, “Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown,” was nominated for “Best Original Score Written for the Theater.”
Cuban actors Bobby Cannavale and Yul Vázquez were called out for their achievements.
Cannavale has been nominated for his role in “The Mother F**ker with a Hat” in the “Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role in a Play” category.
He stars alongside Elizabeth Rodríguez, who is also nominated for her role as Veronica in the category of “Best Performance by an Actress in a Featured Role in a Play,” and Vásquez, who is nominated for "best Performance by an Actor in a Featured Role in a Play."
