Supermodel, actress and Fox News host Carol Alt is no stranger to the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue, having graced the magazine's cover back in 1982. She understands what it takes to be a top model, but there's one thing she's been having trouble understanding lately, and that's Kate Upton's popularity.

While discussing Swimsuit Issue covers on Huffington Post Live, Alt was asked for her opinion on Kate Upton's famous 2012 cover. "What I don't understand with Kate is like, what's all the hullabaloo?" remarked Alt. "I mean, there are many covers of Sports Illustrated. One girl was just wearing a bottom and [no top] … actually a couple of times, no tops. And one time, just beads — I think that was Marisa [Miller], [who] wore just beads!

"So I don't get what all the hullabaloo is," she said.

The 53-year-old supermodel — who recently attributed her ageless looks to her raw food diet — then put forth her own hypothesis: "I think … in this moment, there's just so much social media. And that's why she's had more word of mouth than anybody."

Even still, Alt claims she's a Kate Upton fan. "I like Kate! She's a pretty girl," she added. "But all the girls are nice, and all the girls are pretty. And every cover, to me, deserves to be talked about."
