A leader of Venezuela's opposition is being charged in what the government alleges was a plot to assassinate President Nicolas Maduro.
Venezuela's chief prosecutor on Wednesday ordered former congresswoman Maria Corina Machado to appear in court Dec. 3 to face charges.
In June, arrest orders were issued for three other opposition figures living abroad who are accused of plotting with the United States to topple Maduro's socialist government.
Machado was questioned previously in the case and has denied any wrongdoing. She was stripped of her seat in the National Assembly this year after she denounced Maduro at the Organization of American States.
