The Interior Ministry says Spain's police have arrested the ringleader of a Hungarian criminal organization on suspicion of attempted murder, illegal possession of weapons, extortion and other crimes.
The ministry says 41-year-old Robert Magyar was recently taken into custody in the luxury Mediterranean seaside resort of Marbella. He faces extradition to Norway, Iceland, Switzerland and Hungary, the ministry said in a statement Saturday.
Magyar allegedly is the leader of Fekete Sereg, or the Black Army, a criminal gang based in Hungary, and he was added to Spain's most wanted fugitives list in April 2011.
