Media in the United Arab Emirates say a court has given a seven-year jail sentence to an Uzbek women charged with claiming that she was wearing an explosive belt, leading to a 13-hour standoff in a government building.

The woman was accused of making the threat in September while demanding to see officials to discuss a paternity dispute allegedly involving an Emirati man. Her alleged threat forced the evacuation of the building, though no explosive material was found in the belt.

The state-backed newspaper The National identified the 33-year-old woman sentenced Wednesday as Zulfiya Hamraeva. It says she was ordered to be deported after serving her sentence. She has the opportunity to appeal.

A lawyer for the defendant could not be immediately identified.
