Police: Paris police attacker lived in German shelter

German police have raided an apartment at a shelter for asylum seekers in the western city of Recklinghausen that they say had been occupied by a man shot and killed as he stormed a Paris police station.

North Rhine-Westphalia state police said in a statement late Saturday that they were acting on "concrete evidence" they had obtained from French security authorities.

They say the results of the search are still being evaluated, but that there is no evidence of further possible attacks being planned.

Police refused to release further information to avoid jeopardizing the ongoing investigation.

The man carrying a butcher knife was killed by police on Thursday as he tried to storm a Paris police station on the one-year anniversary of the Charlie Hebdo attacks in the French capital.
