Pakistani court rejects bail for 3 suspects in Times Square bombing case

ISLAMABAD (AP) — A defense lawyer says an anti-terrorism court has rejected bail for three Pakistani men suspected of links to the failed Times Square bomber.

Shaukat Aziz Siddiqi says he will appeal Wednesday's ruling against his three clients: Shoaib Mughal, Shahid Hussain and Humbal Akhtar.

The three men are alleged to have helped Pakistani-American Faisal Shahzad meet up with militant leaders close to the Afghan border. They are also alleged to have sent him money to carry out the attempted car bombing in New York's Times Square on May 1.

Pakistan said earlier this month that the three men would soon be charged in court with terrorism offenses.

Siddiqi said his clients are innocent.
