Norway Killer Breivik to Make Public Appearance

OSLO, Norway - Norway's Supreme Court has ruled that confessed mass killer Anders Behring Breivik will be allowed to make a public appearance at his next detention hearing on Monday.

Breivik has confessed to killing 77 people in the July 22 shooting rampage at a youth retreat on an island and a car bomb attack in Oslo. He denies criminal guilt.

Breivik has appeared at two previous hearings but they have been behind closed doors.

The high court on Friday quashed earlier lower court decisions that approved police requests that Breivik be restricted to addressing the court by video link from prison.

The Oslo District Court earlier this week ruled that the Nov. 14 session will be partly open to the media and public.

His trial is expected to start in April.
