No deal yet in Lebanese-Australian child custody case

The Lebanese father of two children at the heart of a high-profile custody dispute says he will not drop the attempted kidnapping charges against his estranged Australian wife, who tried to take the children from him two weeks ago.

Ali Al-Amin said Monday he does not "have anything against Sal," referring to his estranged wife, but does not want to drop charges.

Sally Faulkner is being held in a Lebanese jail with an Australian TV crew -- two Britons, and two Lebanese -- on charges relating to a botched attempt to seize her two children. Faulkner says al-Amin moved the children to Lebanon last year without her permission.

An investigative judge has asked lawyers for all the parties to come up with a comprehensive deal before the case reaches court.
