NKorea accepts US proposal to discuss war remains

Published November 17, 2014

Associated Press

North Korea says it has accepted a U.S. proposal to hold talks on finding the remains of American soldiers buried in the North.

A Foreign Ministry spokesman told North Korea's official Korean Central News Agency on Friday that Pyongyang has accepted the proposal put forth by Washington. The Associated Press reported earlier this month that U.S. officials had called for talks on soldiers' remains.

The talks to resume the excavation of U.S. remains from the Korean War would be the latest sign of thawing relations between North Korea and the U.S.
