Manager: Ship fired on by Iranians in Gulf says 23 crew onboard unhurt, no serious damage

The manager of a Singapore-flagged commercial tanker that was fired on by an Iranian naval patrol in the Persian Gulf the previous day says no one onboard was hurt and the ship did not sustain serious damage.

Ship manager Transpetrol said in a statement Friday that the Alpine Eternity is now berthed in Dubai's Jebel Ali port, and that the 23 crew members are uninjured.

It has reported Thursday's attack to authorities in Singapore and has provided details of the incident to Emirati officials.

Transpetrol says the Alpine Eternity was "attacked by a number of small craft" while it was in international waters en route from Bahrain to the port of Fujairah in the United Arab Emirates.
