A small village in Lithuania Sunday crowned a 16-month-old white goat as the prettiest in an odd beauty pageant that brings out hundreds of people each year, Reuters reported.
The goat named Demyte—or “Little Spot”—was awarded top honors in the northern village of Ramygala.
“The only thing we didn’t do to prepare the goat for the pageant is we didn’t polish its nails- because we thought of it too late,” Ferdinandas Petkevicius, Demyte’s owner, said.
Goats being goats, not every contestant seemed eager to participate. Some owners reportedly had to carry the animals around when the goats refused to walk.
The winner of the contest was given cakes, jars of honey and coupons for a haircut. The jury reportedly included local officials and a cucumber farmer.
The outdoor contest takes place every summer and draws a big crowd despite the heat, Reuters added.
