Israeli activist says vandals strike her home

Published November 20, 2014

Associated Press

An Israeli anti-settlement activist says vandals have sprayed hate graffiti on her home for the third time in ten months.

Hagit Ofran said she found messages on her stairwell on Monday reading "Hagit - you're dead," and "Kahane was right" - a reference to the late ultranationalist rabbi Meir Kahane, who advocated expelling Arabs from Israel.

Ofran monitors West Bank settlement construction for the Peace Now movement. The group has frequently been a target of right-wing wrath in Israel, and Ofran says her home was targeted twice last November.

"This is clearly from the right wing - they don't like what I'm trying to do," Ofran said.

Police said they are investigating and searching for suspects. No arrests were made in the previous two cases.
