Swedish prosecutors say a man has been charged with encouraging, recruiting and training others to commit terror by giving instructions to his son, who at the time was in Syria.

The Swedish Prosecution Authority says the man gave instructions on how to blow up a prison wall in Aleppo, Syria.

Prosecutors said Friday the advice was given between December 2013 and January 2014 in Jarfalla, west of Stockholm.

Neither the man, nor his son was identified.

Prosecutor Ronnie Jacobsson told Swedish news agency TT that the son later died in Syria. TT also said the man has denied any wrongdoing.

No date for a trial was set. If found guilty, he faces up to two years in jail.
