Authorities say they are investigating whether a charred and mutilated body found in the northern city of San Pedro Sula is that of a journalist missing since last month.
Police investigator Raul Ponce says clothing found near the body resembles what Anibal Barrow was wearing on June 24, when armed men kidnapped him while he driving in his truck.
Ponce told HRN Radio the body was found in a ditch Tuesday.
Honduran police chief Juan Carlos Bonilla says he is waiting for forensic evidence to identify the body.
The 62-year-old journalist had a daily morning news show called "Anibal and Nothing More" on Globo television in San Pedro Sula.
His son, also named Anibal, is running for congress in November elections with the opposition Liberal Party.
