France's first lady is scheduled to travel to India on a humanitarian trip next week, days after leaving the hospital where she was treated in the wake of a gossip magazine's report that President Francois Hollande was having an affair.

Aid group Action Against Hunger says Valerie Trierweiler is expected to visit a slum and a hospital as part of the long-planned trip to Mumbai. Group spokeswoman Julia Belusa said Friday that Trierweiler "has not canceled."

Trierweiler's spokesman could not be immediately reached for comment.

The 48-year-old journalist isn't married to Hollande. She was hospitalized for a week after Closer magazine reported that he was seeing actress Julie Gayet. Trierweiler has been resting at a presidential residence since leaving the hospital Jan. 18.

Hollande was visiting the Vatican on Friday.
