Fire in northeast China kills 9 and injures 9 others

BEIJING (AP) — State media say a fire has killed nine people and injured nine others at a real estate office in northeastern China.

The official Xinhua News Agency says the fire broke out Saturday afternoon at a sales office in Shenyang in Liaoning province.

An official with the Shenyang fire department confirmed the fire but would not give any other details.

Xinhua says the dead and injured were home buyers and sales assistants.
