Explosive device planted at offices of Montenegro newspaper, no injuries

Montenegrin police say they are investigating a bomb blast at the offices of an independent Montenegrin newspaper.

No one was injured in the blast late on Thursday at the offices of Vijesti daily in the capital, Podgorica. The daily said Friday the attack amounted to a "terrorist attack and an attempted murder of the editor-in-chief Mihailo Jovovic."

The bomb was planted under Jovovic's office window. The blast damaged the window and the basement. None of the 15 people present in the building were hurt.

Vijesti has been critical of the Montenegrin government, accusing it of crime and corruption. Its offices and journalists have been targeted in the past.

Government officials have condemned the attack, urging a quick investigation.

Montenegro is seeking to enter the EU.
