Eurowings settles pay dispute with airline cabin crew

Published December 02, 2016

Associated Press

Lufthansa's budget unit Eurowings says it has come to an agreement with its cabin crew to settle a pay dispute.

The airline said Friday it had agreed with the Ver.di union on a raise package over three years. Regular cabin crew will receive a 2.5 percent increase this year backdated to October 1, another 2.5 percent a year later, and 1.25 percent more on October 1, 2018.

Under the agreement, cabin crew chiefs will receive higher raises over the same period, with increases of 5 percent, 2.5 percent and 1.25 percent.

Lufthansa is still in a bitter dispute with its pilots. It has had to cancel nearly 4,500 flights over six days of strikes that started last Wednesday.
