HAVANA (AP) — Cuba has released another round of photos of Fidel Castro in public that show the 83-year-old meeting with academics and warning them of a coming global nuclear war.
Castro is seen in the photos with wife Dalia Soto del Valle and son Tony. They were taken by another son, Alex, during a visit Tuesday to Havana's World Economic Center.
Castro appeared on state television on Monday for a lengthy interview during which he discussed nuclear conflict but not life in Cuba or promise by authorities to free 52 political prisoners.
On Saturday, Cuba released photos of Castro's July 7 visit to the National Center for Scientific Investigation.
Previously Castro stayed mostly out of the public eye since emergency surgery forced him to cede power in 2006.
