Police in Calgary say seven people were shot and two remained in critical condition after gunfire broke out early Thursday morning at a New Year's Eve house party.
Det. Steve Adair said Thursday that police received multiple calls just after 5 a.m. reporting gunshots fired and that by the time officers arrived, the suspect or suspects had already left.
Police found five people in and around the house with gunshot wounds. Adair says two other people later showed up at hospitals for treatment.
He says that aside from the two in critical condition, the other victims' injuries ranged from minor to serious.
Adair says more than 50 people were at the house party.
