Bosnian media mogul jailed in witness tampering case

Published January 28, 2016

A Bosnian media mogul and former security minister will be jailed for a month while prosecutors investigate whether to charge him with obstructing justice.

A court said Thursday that the evidence submitted by prosecutors was sufficient to keep Fahrudin Radoncic in detention to avoid him influencing witnesses and tampering with evidence in a case against an alleged drug lord who is on trial in Kosovo and who ran his business from Sarajevo.

Radoncic, along with two associates who were also arrested, allegedly tried to persuade a witness to leave him out of her statements in the case against Naser Keljmendi, who is charged with murder, organized crime and the sale and production of drugs.

Radoncic denied the accusations and claimed the whole case was politically-motivated.
