Published March 16, 2016

Associated Press

The Belgian federal prosecutor says a suspect killed by police in a raid linked to the Nov. 13 attacks in Paris was an Algerian man living illegally in Belgium.

Thierry Werts, the prosecutor, said an Islamic State group flag, a Salafist Muslim book and a Kalashnikov assault rifle were found in the suspect's home

Eric Van der Spyt, the office's spokesman, said two people were on the run after the raid, which left three officers injured. The officials said counter-terror investigators came under fire as soon as they opened the door to the home Tuesday afternoon.

THIS IS A BREAKING NEWS STORY. AP'S PREVIOUS STORY IS BELOW:

Police operations continued overnight in Belgium as investigators hunted for possible accomplices of a gunman killed in a raid linked to the Nov. 13 attacks in Paris.

Three Belgian and one French officer were hurt in the operation Tuesday, after authorities said investigators came under fire and stormed a house, killing a suspect armed with an assault rifle.

Authorities were trying to determine if other suspects remained at large. The anti-terror raid in the Forest neighborhood was linked to the November gun and suicide-bombing attacks on a stadium, cafes and a concert hall in Paris that left 130 people dead. Belgian nationals played key roles in the attack. The Belgian federal prosecutor planned a news conference Wednesday morning.
