Police in the Bahamas have arrested two boaters whom officers say were carrying bales of marijuana worth an estimated $1.3 million.

The Royal Bahamas Police Force says that drug enforcement officers found two suspicious-looking men early Wednesday in a 42-foot white go-fast boat near Long Island, one of the hundreds of little islands that make up the Caribbean archipelago. As a drug enforcement unit approached the boat, the officers saw the men toss bales of what appeared to be marijuana overboard.

The suspects were taken into custody along with 37 bales of marijuana. The men and suspected drugs were taken to New Providence.

Bahamas police issued the statement Thursday.
