6 workers found dead inside Mexico coal mine

Emergency crews located the bodies of six workers who were trapped underground Friday in a coal mine collapse in northern Mexico.
One miner was rescued alive earlier after the accident at site near another coal mine where seven miners died in an explosion last week.
Federico Mendez Pacheco, representative of the Coahuila state civil defense office in the coal-mining region, said the six dead men apparently were crushed when tons of coal fell on them.
The mine's owner, Grupo Acerero del Norte, had initially reported five miners were trapped.
The company said the mine is in Nueva Rosita, a town in Coahuila state, which borders Texas. Mexico's Labor Department said Labor Secretary Rosalinda Velez had traveled to the scene to help with recovery efforts.
Seven miners were killed last week in an apparent methane gas explosion inside a coal mine not far from Nueva Rosita. The explosion was at the El Progreso mine, about 90 miles (150 kilometers) southwest of the border city of Eagle Pass, Texas.
