19-year-old dies in hospital, death toll reaches 60 in Romania nightclub fire

Romanian authorities say a 19-year-old student has died of injuries sustained in a nightclub fire in Bucharest, bringing the death toll to 60.

The town hall of Sinaia said Alexandru Hogea, an IT student, succumbed to his injuries in the AKH Vienna General Hospital on Sunday.

Hogea was a native of the mountain resort of Sinaia. The health ministry said a 22-year-old man died on Saturday at the St. Ioan hospital in Bucharest from his burns.

Andreea Stefan, a 28-year-old human resources employee at a managing consulting company, died Friday in a hospital in the German town of Bochum where she had been transferred for treatment.

A spark ignited foam decor during a concert at the Colectiv nightclub on Oct. 30, sending panicked revelers stampeding to a single-exit door.
