Published November 20, 2014

Associated Press

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Authorities say 10 people suffered injuries, including broken bones, during severe turbulence on a flight from London to Los Angeles that was diverted to Montreal.

United Airlines spokeswoman Sarah Massier says United Flight 935 reported severe turbulence over the Atlantic Ocean Tuesday and landed in Montreal around 1:15 p.m.

The airline says nine passengers and one crew member were treated. None of the injuries were considered to be life-threatening.

The Boeing 777 aircraft was taken out of service and inspected for possible damage.

Massier says another plane was sent from Chicago to Montreal to take the passengers and crew to Los Angeles.

The plane landed in Los Angeles at around 10 p.m. Tuesday, around nine hours later than originally scheduled.
