The Latest: Limo driver pleads not guilty in fatal crash

The Latest on the indictment of the driver of a limousine that crashed into a pickup truck in wine country in Long Island, New York, killing four passengers (all times local):

A limousine driver making a U-turn in Long Island wine country when his car was hit by a pickup truck has pleaded not guilty to criminally negligent homicide and other charges in the death of four passengers.

Fifty-eight-year-old Carlos Pino entered the plea at his arraignment Wednesday afternoon. His attorney calls the crash "an unspeakable tragedy."

Pino was leaving a winery in Cutchogue (kuht-CHAWG') when it was struck by the truck in July.

Suffolk County District Attorney Thomas Spota says the limo driver's sight was blocked by a car that was turning in front of him. He says Pino is solely responsible for the crash.

The pickup truck driver, Steven Romeo, has been charged with driving while intoxicated. His attorney didn't immediately respond to a request for comment.
