The Latest: Jurors to resume for 2nd day in case of Oklahoma officer charged with rape

The latest on the trial of a former police officer in Oklahoma City who has been accused by 13 women of rape or sexual assault (all times are local):

Jurors in Oklahoma City met for hours to deliberate the fate of a former policeman accused of sexually victimizing 13 women in the low-income neighborhood he patrolled.

Jurors began deliberations Monday evening and worked until early Tuesday morning, when the judge announced they had not reached a verdict but were done for the day. They are expected to resume at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Daniel Holtzclaw faces 36 counts of rape, sexual battery and other charges. The victims say they met the 28-year-old while he was on duty, and prosecutors say the ex-officer intimidated them into not reporting his crimes. Holtzclaw's lawyer portrayed him as a model officer.

The ex-officer did not take the stand.

Holtzclaw could spend the rest of his life in prison if he is convicted on any of six first-degree rape counts.
