Teenager charged with murder after house party shooting

Published June 28, 2016

Associated Press

An 18-year-old man has been charged with first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder and felony reckless endangerment in connection with a shooting at a Tennessee house party that left a teenage girl dead and two others wounded.

Citing court records, news outlets report Quin Love is being held without bond after having been arraigned Monday in connection with the early Sunday shooting. It's unclear whether he has an attorney.

Authorities say Love fired 10 rounds from a handgun into a crowd at the party, hitting three people, including 17-year-old Elia Hernandez.

Haywood County Sheriff Melvin Bond says Hernandez was inside the house, hiding from a fight outside, when she was fatally shot in the abdomen.

Investigators say Love also shot 22-year-old Jonathan Davis and 19-year-old Carlos Savage. Both have been released from the hospital.
