Teen reporting crime sees alleged attacker in police station

Published April 25, 2016

Associated Press

A teen making a police report about an assault on Long Island had no problem leading authorities to one of the men he accused of robbing him -- because he saw him inside the police station.

Nassau County authorities said the 14-year-old boy was walking with a friend in Freeport on Friday afternoon when he was chased by a group of males.

The boy told authorities he was hit with a golf club and robbed of his cell phone and wallet. He went to the police station to file a report, and saw a man he accused of being part of the attack in the building.

The man, in the station to report an unrelated incident, was arrested on a robbery charge.
