San Francisco police say they have evacuated Union Square on a report of a suspicious package.
Police spokesman Gordon Shyy says the report came in around 11:50 a.m. Thursday. In addition to the evacuation, a one-block radius around Union Square has been shutdown to vehicles and pedestrians.
Union Square is a major tourist draw. It is surrounded by high-end retail stores.
