Small plane crash-lands on S. Calif. golf course

Published November 17, 2014

Associated Press

A two-seater airplane crash-landed in a sand trap at a Southern California golf course, sending one person to the hospital with minor injuries.

Corona Fire Battalion Chief Chris Cox says the single-engine plane ran into trouble shortly before 11 a.m. Thursday and came down on the Cresta Verde Golf Course in Corona.

Cox says the plane hit nose first and flipped upside down. One of the plane's two occupants was taken to a hospital. No one on the ground was injured.

Alonso Barrera, a salesman at the course's pro shop, says no one was playing the hole at the time of the crash.
