Rail commuters in Philadelphia are facing delays and some might be forced to ride buses after cracks were found in two rail cars.

The Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority took cars out for inspection after a crack was found on a main load-carrying beam on a Market-Frankford Line car during regularly scheduled vehicle overhaul work.

The transit agency removed some other vehicles that had indications of possible cracks.

SEPTA says customers may experience delays and crowded conditions Monday along the Market-Frankford Line during peak hours. Supplemental bus service is available.

The agency had to take about one-third of its regional rail fleet out of service because of a structural defect last summer.
