Prosecutors will re-try Missouri man in sisters' deaths

Prosecutors plan to re-try a man whose murder conviction and death sentence were overturned in the slayings of two sisters who were thrown from an abandoned Mississippi River bridge in St. Louis 24 years ago.

Circuit Attorney Jennifer Joyce also announced Monday that she will again seek the death penalty in the case against Reginald Clemons.

He was one of four men convicted in the deaths of 20-year-old Julie Kerry and 19-year-old Robin Kerry. The Missouri Supreme Court tossed Clemons' conviction in November.

Prosecutors alleged the sisters were raped and shoved off the bridge into the river and that their cousin was forced to jump off. The cousin survived.

Clemons' attorney didn't immediately return a phone call from The Associated Press.
