Probe opened after Kentucky attorney vanished three weeks ago

Published January 13, 2015

Associated Press

An eastern Kentucky attorney has not been seen in three weeks, prompting concern for his well-being from friends and colleagues.

Clyde F. Johnson of Prestonsburg was last heard from when he told a secretary to clear his calendar for June 24. Since then, no one has been able to locate Johnson, who also works as a volunteer football coach at Prestonsburg High School.

His friend, Ned Pillersdorf, told The Courier-Journal the disappearance is "just stunning."

Friends say Johnson took his dog as well as an Xbox gaming system, a 40-inch TV and a new camper he had bought without telling his wife of 19 years.

Police say there's nothing illegal about an adult disappearing and not contacting anyone, but a missing person investigation has been opened in this case.
