Police shoot man who called 911 to say he killed wife

Published June 08, 2016

Associated Press

Florida police officers shot and wounded a man who said he had killed his wife and who threatened to fire on them.

Hollywood police Chief Thomas Sanchez is quoted by the SunSentinel as saying the man started acting erratically when police responded to his 911 call Wednesday, and that he confronted two officers before they shot him.  He was brought to the hospital, but his condition was not immediately known.

Sanchez says he doesn't know whether the man fired a gun at the officers before he was shot.

Police found a woman's body inside the house. They haven't released her name or the ages or races of the man, woman or officers.
