Authorities say officers shot and killed a woman who led them on a pursuit and then fired a gun at them during a confrontation on an Alabama interstate.
The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency said the shooting happened Wednesday night on Interstate 65 in the Clanton area.
Authorities say that about 8 p.m. Wednesday, a man approached an Alabama State Trooper stationed in a construction zone on I-65 and told the trooper that his wife had threatened to shoot him.
Officials say the trooper tried to stop the woman's car, and a pursuit involving other law enforcement agencies began when she refused to stop.
