Police: Masked gunman shoots 2 at DC temp agency

Published February 15, 2019

Associated Press

Police in the nation's capital say a one person was killed and another was wounded when a masked gunman opened fire in a District temp agency before escaping.

Chief Peter Newsham tells news outlets the Thursday attack didn't appear to be a robbery and investigators are still working to determine a motive. Police say it's unclear if the gunman has ties to the Trojan Labor temp agency.

Police say 32-year-old David Anthony Remen of La Crosse, Wisconsin, was killed in the shooting. They say the owner of the business was wounded and hospitalized. Authorities didn't immediately release the condition or identity of the owner.

Police are offering a reward of up to $25,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those involved in the attack.
