Police: Man throwing beer bottles shot

Mississippi authorities say man throwing beer bottles at officers has been shot.

Commander Tyree Jones, a spokeswoman for the Jackson Police Department, says officers were called around 2:30 a.m. Tuesday to a disturbance at a convenience store.

When officers arrived, Jones says 40-year-old Dennis Green started throwing beer bottles at them. Jones says Green was shot several times.

Police say Green is being treated at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, where he's listed in stable condition.

The officer involved in the shooting has been placed on administrative leave.
