LAS VEGAS -- Police say a man parked a red sport utility vehicle near a Las Vegas freeway and opened fire on passing cars, wounding one person before being shot by officers and arrested.
Police Officer Barbara Morgan said the shooting happened about 2:30 p.m. Thursday on Interstate 15 just south of the Las Vegas Strip.
Morgan says a police officer shot the gunman, described as a man in his 30s. Morgan says the suspect's injuries aren't life-threatening and two other people were in police custody.
Morgan says the person wounded by the gunman also has non-life threatening injuries.
Nevada Highway Patrol Trooper Joseph Fackrell says southbound I-15 was briefly shut down, but quickly reopened with exits and entrances closed near the scene at Blue Diamond Road.
