Police say a 76-year-old man drove his car into a Southern California tutoring club, injuring five people, including two who were trapped underneath the vehicle.
Fountain Valley police Sgt. Kurt Ulrich says 76-year-old Peter Hauk of Huntington Beach drove into the Tutoring Club in Orange County at about 12:30 p.m. Monday.
Officers nearby responded immediately and saw a 2011 black Buick sedan inside the building's plate-glass entry, which faces into a strip mall parking lot.
Firefighters extricated two victims trapped underneath the car, including a 32-year-old man who was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. Of the remaining four injured, one was hurt seriously.
The injured include two 15-year-old boys, a 20-year-old man and a 67-year-old woman. The driver was transported with minor injuries.
