Pennsylvania man stabbed to death with 22-inch sword; police say killing may be drug-related

Published January 08, 2015

Associated Press

State police say a Pennsylvania man was repeatedly stabbed with a 22-inch sword, and they are chasing leads that his killing may be drug-related.

The 37-year-old man was found dead in a home at about 1:45 a.m. Thursday in Blairsville, a small town about 45 miles east of Pittsburgh.

Police took items they believed to be drug paraphernalia from the house and said they had several "persons of interest" but no suspects in the case.

The Indiana County coroner is not releasing details at the request of police.

Blairsville police are investigating the case with state troopers.

Police Chief Mike Allman says the victim isn't a native of Blairsville.
